This policy covers the wholesale ordering system used by M&J Bakery Inc (also trading as Manhattan Bakery NC), P.O. Box 149, Morrisville, NC 27560.

Who this applies to

Our wholesale customers — hotels, universities, catering companies, cafés and similar businesses with an existing account with us — and our own staff. Accounts are created by M&J Bakery. Members of the public cannot register.

It also applies to businesses that ask us for a tasting through our Request a tasting form. That form does not create an account: it sends us the business name and contact details you type in, so that we can call or email you about our products. We keep them with our notes of those conversations, and delete them if you ask us to.

What we hold

• Business account details: business name, delivery address, contact name, telephone number and email address.
• Orders and invoices: what was ordered, quantities, prices, delivery dates, invoice amounts and payment status.
• Sign-in details: an account identifier and a password, held in encrypted form by our authentication provider. We cannot read your password.

We do not collect date of birth, government identification, health information or any other sensitive category of personal data. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or analytics profiling.

Card payments

Where card payment is offered, it is processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's own payment page and are never sent to or stored by us. We receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference for it.

Why we hold it

Solely to run the trading relationship: to take and produce your orders, deliver them, invoice you correctly, keep account records, and comply with tax and accounting obligations.

Who else sees it

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for marketing. It is handled by these service providers, acting on our instructions:

• Supabase — hosts the database and the sign-in system.
• Stripe — processes card payments, where used.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

Access is controlled at the database level, not merely hidden in the page: each customer account can retrieve only its own orders, invoices and prices, and cannot see another customer's information or another pricing group's prices. All traffic is encrypted in transit. Only authorised M&J Bakery staff can view records across accounts.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes, normally seven years. Account details are kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about your business account. Records we are required to keep for tax or accounting reasons cannot be deleted before that period expires. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This is a business-to-business tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes affecting customers will be communicated directly.
